Doodhpokhari Chepe hydropower project is being promoted in Chepe khola, a tributary of Marsyandi river. The historic river Chepe khola that borders Gorkha and Lamjung is formed from the pristine waters of glacier lake Doodhpokhari. Doodhpokhari, with it’s tourism and religious significance, resides on the lap of Himalchuli Himal. In 2017 April , with the objective for the production of electricity from the river ‘Chepe’, Doodhpokhari Hydropower Pvt. Ltd. was registered in company registrar office. The project was officially initiated from November 7, 2017 as the company received “Electricity Production Survey Authority” from Department of Electricity Development. Connection Agreement was done with Grid Operating Department under Nepal Electricity Authority in November, 2018. Similarly, in January, 2019 after the Power Purchasing Agreement (PPA) was done with NEA, the company has initiated managing and coordinating its activities wisely and thoroughly for achieving its goals on time. Personnel with high and well business motive, professionals in hydropower and financial sectors with the long term experience are involved in the board member committee.
The primary objective of this project is the production of electricity, with the motive to distribute electricity nationally. Providing employment opportunities in local sectors, utilizing the local resources, enhancing and motivating local sectors or people to invest on shares and providing them good financial result in return, in pre-determined time with initial and adequate capitals are the major goals. After achieving pre-determined goal on pre-determined time, this Private Organization will be converted into Company and upgraded into I.P.O.
